“…..we are in the southern part of Tuscany, in front of the Elba island, famous for Napoleon’s imprisonment. Not far from Florence and Siena, the region is cut across by the ancient Aurelia road. On a hilly landscape lies Suvereto, a small and charming medievil village with olive trees and vineyards, whose area houses what for generations has been known as the “Bulichella”.

In 1983 four families coming from different sides of Italy made this their new home attracted by the beauty and uniqueness of this area. Spurred by mutual ideals and targets they committed themselves with much dedication to the making of wine and growing of vegetables without any use of chemical fertilizer, in respect of nature and landscape. As the years went by the needs of the four families changed and in year 2000 Mr. Miyakawa Hideyuki stemming from Japan and his wife Maria Luisa Bassano became the sole owners.

The couple, very close and full of energy, took initial targets with much dedication to a further step improving considerably the Farm.
In these last years Bulichella underwent two major renovation projects, one concerning the improvement of the facilities for farm holidays. The other project involved the building of a new cellar thus improving the wine production thanks to high technical machinery and a room for the aging in barriques.
All of these new investments were of course carried out with a low impact on environment and the Farm obtained certification by ICEA, one of the most important national organizations for organic control.
In year 2001 Bulichella achieved excellent reviews in major national wine guides such as Gambero Rosso, Espresso and Veronelli...a clear sign that quality can be obtained in full respect of nature and sorrounding environment.

The farm stretches out across an area full of history, of ancient cultural and agro industrial traditions as well as many tourist resorts.

Being close to the sea and to resorts of cultural interest such as medieval villages, striking Etruscan necropolis and the Calidario thermal complex, makes this “simple” farm holiday a full immersion with its territory, products and its history.
Only twenty minutes away by car you can find the beautiful beach of the Golfo of Baratti, of Carbonifera and Rimigliano, rich of Mediterranean green pine trees.

The beautifully situated farm allows you a “one day trip” to the most interesting resorts such as Florence, Siena, Volterra, Lucca, Pisa, the Park of the Uccellina and the Elba isle.
The town of Suvereto, orange banner thanks to its tourist and environmental quality, it’s a pretty medieval village that houses events linked to the agro industrial world (such as Calici di Stelle and FestUnta), to tradition (wild boar feast) and to local culture.
In the area of Val di Cornia man and nature worked together since Etruscan time to build up an unique landscape, with many natural parks where you can spend time visiting archaeological sites, mixing with nature or just relaxing.

Here you can read a book or just relax thanks to the wonderful view over the small village of Suvereto.

Farm holidays at Bulichella are also holidays of tasty cuisine: guests can appreciate, in the brand new restaurant room, our typical dishes made with genuine and local ingredients, maybe just picked from our garden, carefully prepared by “mamma Laura”.
Some special evenings you will be able to try the famous “Scottiglia Suveretana”, traditionally served in earthenware dishes, or taste the delicious pizza cooked in our wood-burning oven, or even take part in a fun barbecue on the terrace with a panoramic view.
A farm holiday at Bulichella is trying to forget, at least for a while, every day life stress…you have to try it to believe it!

Our wines have a character, an harmony and a taste that reflect the typical features of the environment and soil of this area.
The vineyards spread across a surface area of ten hectares of medium mixture soil, fundamentally clayey.

This is how we feel vines and wines must be: magical spirits of our world.

On request and for groups we organize as well:
  • Tour of the Farm and of the cellar with a walk to the lake, skirting the vineyards and a taste of a selection of our wines and other products (olive oil, marmalade, “bruschette”);
  • Tour through the Farm and the cellar with tasting of a selection of our wines .
